Last week when I posted the picture of our resident doe, I did not tell you that I knew she had a baby. It seemed kind of silly to say, “I know she has a baby, but I don’t have a picture of it for you!” Well, I did know, but I also knew that she was not letting it come up over the hill to the feeder. I am guessing she just wanted to wait until it was a bit older. What I didn’t know, is that not only does Mama have one baby, she has twins, and she let them come up the hill to the feeder early this morning. They are definitely more difficult to photograph than are the adults. They just kind of run and bounce around all over the place, and trying to get both of them together in one photo was almost impossible. But I got a few, and thought you’d like to see. Really, are they not the most precious little things???
It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 months since I’ve been here, but indeed it has. I actually had to look up my password, but then I have too many different passwords anyway!
I have been visiting most of you from time to time, and it looks like everyone is having a wonderful summer (or winter, depending on where you are!). It’s been a great summer here so far in NY, although a bit rainy, but as long as it’s warm, I’m fine with that.
This little lady passes through just about every evening, cleans out the bird bath turned bird feeder, and then goes on her way.
Wishing all of you a great week ahead!
Well, the major part of the move is over, and now it’s a matter of getting House #1 ready to sell, so the work is not over, but the move went smoothly.
The pond out in back of the house has never been home to a duck or goose family. At least not that I know of.
Sometimes in the spring, they come, they check things out, they definitely eat, and then they leave.
Well, I’ve not seen any ducks so far this year, but this pair of Canada Geese has been here for 4 out of the past 7 days.
I was very surprised when I saw them, because you do not see many of them here.
