Wow! Such a stunning image Lisa! I’m not a great fan of HDR as I think many people over do it but this is brilliant!!
I might have to look into it some more. If you can point me in the right direction of good websites which explain how to do this I would be very appreciative!
This is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HDR shot Ive ever seen. So many of them are too tonally intense and overdone or too commercial looking.
THIS is ethereal, delicate, and seems to radiate light…a really beautiful image.
i haven’t been on your blog for a while, I don’t know why but seeing it again made me completely in awe of your photography again! wow these images are truly amazing.
I’m not big into HDR (seen too many “over HDR-ed” images to turn me off of them), but this one may have just won me over. This is beautiful, Lisa—it looks like a painting!
Of course I’ve never been to Boston, but I am surprised to learn that this particular architectural structure is there! When I saw the image on FB, I thought it was located in Europe or somewhere!
The blue on the roofs against the blue of the sky…awesome. That is one elaborate church! I often don’t like HDR but this is so subtle and well-done I love it.
Lisa, I love seeing you experiment in different ways to show off your stellar photography. This is amazing! I’ve seen some HDR that looks too unreal, but this is an example of how it should be done. Bravo, dear girl, brav-O!
Hi Lisa, I don’t know what HDR is! Have you stuck one building in front of another or are they really that close! What different styles! I prefer the building in the back with the beautiful dome against the sky.
Are those people paddling in the water? I hardly think so! It seems there are three photos in one – or maybe I’m mistaken as everyone else seems to know what you’re talking about!
Have a lovely start to your week!
Sandra
Sandra,
In short, HDR (High Dynamic Range) is the process of taking several images of the same subject at different exposures, and then merging them in an attempt to bring out the best tones/colors (dynamic range) in your photograph. This is just one building (not separate ones).
The people are not actually in the water. There is a reflecting pond in front of the church, and those people are walking along the edge of it.

I’ve got to try HDR photography…you did this beautifully, some shots look too surreal for my taste. Now I need to find my hidden tripod. (o:
